Welcome to the free broadband page, one of the worst
things about broadband is that you have to pay for it
every month but there are now some companies that offer
free broadband but there is always a catch. The catch
with most free broadband providers is that you have to
sign up for another paid service and get the free broadband
as a bonus, these services are usually telephone or cable
packages where you pay a monthly fee for that service
and get broadband thrown in as a bonus.
This can be a good deal if you already have or with
to sign up for one of these services such as cable
or one of the telephone services as you would then
get free broadband with a service that you wish to
have. It is not so good if you do not want cable or
one of these telephone services, the telephone services
generally involve paying a monthly fee for unlimited
calls which can be very good if you like to chat allot
but not so good if you hardly ever use the phone.
The other thing about free broadband is that the broadband
is often slow and/or limited so if you use broadband allot
it may not be a good option, the slower connections and limits
are bearable if you are a light user and only browse the web
and send a few emails but some have small limits which would
stop your access if you go over that limit. If you use broadband
quite allot then free broadband may not be for you due to
these limits, normal ADSL broadband is very cheap these days
so if you do not want limits or do not want to sign up for
a telephone or cable package then a normal ADSL broadband
package may be better for you.
The first major company in the UK to offer free broadband
was Talk Talk, this is a telephone company that is ran by
the Carphone Warehouse and has several call plans that you
can choose from. With a Talk Talk call package you get free
broadband included which is excellent if you make allot of
phone calls, you have to pay the Talk Talk monthly fee though
so it may not be right for some people.
